Tot School {29.5 Months}

Lately, I’ve been letting Olivia choose what she wants to to each day for her school time.

I used to set out a handful of activities and she was perfectly content to do them over and over. The past month or so, she has gotten very choosey with what she will do, and often refuses to repeat an activity. She remains much more interested and focused when I let her lead. I never force her to sit and do “school”, but she still asks to do it daily. Here’s a look at what she’s been busy with:

This girl LOVES her teddy bear counters!  So much so that she has a fit to see anyone else play with them.  Here I set out some colored bowls and we worked on matching up the bears with the correct colored bowl.  It was a great opportunity to practice her color vocabulary too.

She did these stacking shape pegs pretty quickly and then set them aside….

The Honey Bee Tree is one game that she will volunteer to play with nearly every day.  Great for fine motor skills!

Elaina did a Transportation Unit, and Olivia joined in on several of the activities.  Here is a fun sound match puzzle.

A little prewriting practice…plus a little creativity!

Going through the vocabulary cards from this pack.  I asked her questions like, “Show me the bus.  Where is the airplane?”

These are a really fun toy from when the boys were little. Magnetic Truck pieces that combine to make other trucks.

We've been having lots of picnics lately thanks to the beautiful spring weather!  Olivia tries so hard to be a big kid and do everything that the older kids are doing....makes me a little sad, but still so proud!
