Math with Place Value Rods

The boys have been learning about place value in math.
I got out our set of Place Value Rods to help them better understand the concept.
These rods are pretty neat!  They snap together either horizontally or vertically.
They are colored and sized according to the value that they hold,
from ones, tens, hundreds...all the way up to millions.

After they played around with them for a while,
I wrote out some simple numbers for them to create with the rods.

Here is 104: One Hundred cube + Four Ones cubes

Here is 421: Four Hundreds cubes + Two Tens cubes + One Ones Cube.

These were a lot of fun, and a great way to learn place value if you have a
hands-on kind of learner!
Great job boys!
